I find sharks to be incredible creatures. Each of the hundreds of species of sharks can have a very diverse appearance since they have evolved to fit into various ecological niches, and they have been there since before dinosaurs ever existed.
I attended a palaeontology introductory course in college, and I can still clearly recall learning about some really grotesque-looking prehistoric sharks (see the whorl shark).

There have been a few well-known sharks in the media, like Bruce from Finding Nemo and the shark from Jaws. The largest predatory fish in the world, the great white shark, served as their model. These intimidating creatures can move quickly through the water and terrify with their rows of big, serrated teeth.
The Great White in my amigurumi isn’t quite as terrifying as the actual thing. To maintain the torpedo shape, I added purposeful increases and drops at the tail to give it a slight flick. This straightforward design demonstrates how to slightly shape a component by aligning increases and decreases side by side.
For the main body, you can use any color of yarn. Look up different shark species. You might be able to find a purpose for that variegated yarn you bought because it was interesting but you have no idea what to do with it because they come in so many different colors!
